MOTOR TREND WEEKEND

The Motor Trend Weekend show is a real road show airing on Sunday mornings. It features broadcasts from auto venues throughout the country and the world. Bob Long promises to put the pedal to the metal and offers the comments of industry professionals and interviews on-site at the most important auto events of the year. You can hear about cars and how to enjoy them directly from those that do it. These events also attract celebrities from the motion picture industry, recording artists, athletes and others who will share the spotlight and microphone with Bob. Although the auto industry is the focus, this program expands to include the people and the events that make it all happen. UNCLE CHARLIE MAXWELL

”Talk story with Uncle Charlie“ has been airing on KNUI AM 900 on the Aloha Friday for the past 10 years featuring Hawaii’s top entertainers, Senators and Congressmen from Washington D.C.


Talk story with Uncle Charlie have traveled to Washington D.C. where live broadcast from the Nations Capital back to Maui. The show was also broadcast live from Canberra Australia 23 hours ahead from Maui. A live broadcast was also performed from the Ala Moana Hotel, the Merry Monarch Festival in Hilo, Makia Malo’s home in Kalaupapa and on Honokanai’a beach on Kahoolawe This new show will be for 4 hours and have more Hawaiian and local issues to be discussed. Hawaiian music featuring the islands entertainers will be featured. Maxwell who is a historian, lecturer, cultural consultant and a Kahu (Hawaiian Priest) will flavor the show with historical facts of the past, legends and interpretation of the living culture of these islands.

MAUI MATTERS WITH WENDY OSHER

Wendy Osher began her career in local radio in 1998 after graduating a year earlier from the University of Southern California with a BA in Journalism. In 2000 she was hired as News Director for Pacific Radio Group where she remains the only full-time broadcast news employee in Maui County-serving the company's six Maui radio stations. Wendy has written specials for the Honolulu-Star Bulletin Maui Bureau and has been credited for providing news footage to KHON-2 News for a number of stories including criminal investigations, Native Hawaiian issues, and public meetings. In 2000 Wendy helped to launch Maui's only locally-produced, regularly-scheduled television news program entitled "On Maui" which ran for three years on the Maui Community College station. There she served as a segment producer, anchor and writer. She also served as an instructor for MCC's Digital Media curriculum where she taught classes for college students in News Writing and Reporting. For the past four election cycles, Wendy was featured as a co-host on Maui's Akaku Community Television where she produced election-related segments, interviewed candidates and updated the public on local races. In recent years Pacific Radio Group partnered with Akaku to deliver live radio and television simulcasts of the event. REY PATAO

Rey Patao has been hosting a popular Filipino-language show for seven years. His nightly show on FoxNews-900 features Filipino music, news and commentary. Patao welcomes interaction with his listeners, who eagerly await and participate in his popular on-air contests. A native of The Phillipines, Patao arrived on Maui in 1987 and since then has developed a reputations as one the island’s top traveling deejays -- spinning the tunes for many weddings, anniversaries and birthday parties – and as video editor of family events.
